The size, scope and complexity of India's farmer suicide crisis are enormous. As concerned world citizens we find ourselves overwhelmed by a situation such as this, unable to know where to begin making sense of it. But we can begin by simply opening our eyes, minds and hearts to this suffering, by bearing witness to a tragedy that few others have opened themselves to. We can educate ourselves and raise consciousness surrounding the issues of the farming crisis not only in India, but as it is playing out across the world, even in our own country. Food ties us all together as one human family.
